Stream Pump Installation
Posted on Jun 1st, 2019
KM Specialty and Straeffer Pump supplied and installed the pump. Capital Electric tested the wiring and pulled new wires needed for the new pump. The board members involved were impressed with the quality of the work performed.
The installation went very well with the new pump installed, new control wires run from the pump to the control panel, power wiring tested, and new control panel and power converter. The new solid state power converter is more efficient than the old 80's design unit it replaced and we expect some reduction in the electrical cost to run the pump. The pump is on a photocell to run from sunup to sundown.
The control panel at the power transformer area behind 1348 Lane has a red alarm light on the top. If anyone notices that the red alarm is lit and flashing, please notify Richard Lamb or one of the directors immediately.
We also hope that the re-circulation of the lake water will improve the water quality and clarity.
PS the electric bill for 2015 and 2016 averaged about $3500/yr. The old pump failed in the fall of 2016. The electric bill for 2017 and 2018 averaged about $1300/yr. So we expect the annual electric bill to return to perhaps $3000/year. We budgeted $2800 this year so there will be little change in the budget.
